MARINE CADETS

Our Marine Cadets are aged 12-18yrs and base their training on that of the Royal Marines. TS Cutlass Marine Cadets are given the opportunity to get involved in boating, adventurous activities and specialisations just like our Blue Jacket cadets however are also trained in fieldcraft, shooting, close-quarter combat, map reading etc.

Field Craft

 

Our marine cadets conduct fieldcraft to a high standard and base their training of that of the Royal Marines.

 

Commonly they are highly trained in 

 

  • Advance to contacts

  • Ambush

  • Anti-Ambush

  • Close Quarter Combat

  • Fighting in Built up areas

  • Fighting in fields and forest

 

Our Marine cadets exprience sleeping out under canvass tactically and working, eating and sleeping within a section of men.

Training Afloat



Our marine cadets are given the opportunity to learn a variety of boating. We currently offer training on the following disciplines:

 

  • Paddlesports (Kayaking/Canoeing)

  • Powerboating

  • Rowing

  • Sailing

  • Offshore Sailing/Power

  • Bell Boating

  • Yachting

  • Windsurfing

  • Paddle Boarding

 

Which provide the cadets with a level of training to gain them nationally recognised qualifications.

Drill & Bearing

 

 

TS Cutlass marine cadets are trained to a high standard in Drill and Marching. Our marine cadets enter competitions throughout the year to show their impeccable talents in drill and bearing.

 

This also forms a part of their advancement and a higher standard is expected as they go through the ranks.

Specialisations & Proficiencies

 

 

All our cadets are given the opportunity to attend courses and work on set specialised subjects based on actual specialisations of the Royal Navy. These gain the cadet qualifications and badges that the cadet can get more and more advanced in ending with expert knowledge in their chosen field. Here are some of the specialisations & proficiencies we offer:​​

Map & Compass

 

The need for good map reading is vital within TS Cutlass Marine Cadets. 

 

This is an important part of their training and conduct night navigations and expeditions to put this useful skill into practice.
